Caserma Ederly, Vicenza, Italy

I have been here for over a year and never want to leave! The base offers so much for families. I work with the Childhood Youth Services and they have excellent schools, programs, sports, and family help services. The post is small and much of the housing is on the economy but that is part of what makes it so great. There are a lot of excellent renovations starting to offer even more to both families and single soldiers. The location is incredible, 45 minutes from Venice but I find the Vicenza area to be much more interesting with a lot more to see. ITR offers great trips all over europe for the best price you can find. Although I love it here there are a few draw backs as you will find with anywhere you live. The cost of euro is pretty bad making off-post purchasing quite expensive. Also learning the language is really important to finding your way around. Luckily ACS offers a entry level class for free. For you single soldiers the city night life is awesome!! Also there are great trips avaliable specifically for you. When choosing an overseas station put Caserma at the top of your list!! CIAO!
