Fort Hood

This is my husband and I first duty station. The people here are friendly when they need something, gossiping other times and guessing your situation. We live in the older townhome housing area, but it is decent, built back in the 70's. Plenty of space and our own private driveway. They are replacing windows and painting the exterior as we speak. The post provides alot of acitivites for the families, especially for those with deployed spouses. As far as for jobs, I have 3 children under the age of 8 years old and it hard to get daycare for my Pre-K student for afterschool. So, I'm currently trying to work the Substitute Teacher circuit. Also, the other jobs offered mostly want you to work nights or weekends. Childcare can get pretty expensive here and so alot of the mothers are opted to be homemakers. I find it better to keep to myself and just read whatever you can get your hands own to find out more happenings on post. Killeen is a bit overcrowded, San Antonio is about 2 1/2 hours away and there is Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta. Other than that, I'm looking forward to Fort Carson when 4th ID.
