Hanscom

Hanscom AFB , Boston

Hanscom AFB is a wonderful base. It's just outside of Boston. The Cost of living is the 2nd highest in the states, but if you can pull that off it is a wonderful area. The job market for spouses is fabulous. The public transportation is OK (not as clean or efficent as DC). The housing is the nicest I've seen. Some of it is contracted. And there are no planes going over all the time. There is one military plane that comes here each week. I also want to say...AVOID COLUMBUS MISSISSIPPI at all costs especially if you aren't familiar with the south. You will be stuck in the middle of nowhere will no opportunity for spouses and terrible schools. The only up side is that they are just completing new housing.
